Altitude Glass completed a full turnkey solution for an office refurbishment for Guardian Pensions Ltd in Blackburn who, due to significant growth, needed more space for their workforce.
Their requirements were to install glass partitions for offices rather than solid walls and the addition of more storage and the overall design was to be open plan.
Altitude designed the scheme with 3D visuals and schematic plans, which were approved before we commenced the works.
Having looked at the office through a series of concepts, we put forward that the entrance onto the first floor needed to be repositioned to allow more room for desks and storage. This change improved the layout and allowed a break-out space with kitchen area. Reinvigorating the space, the new break-out area also benefited morale as employees now had a communal area in which to chat and relax.
The works were done within normal working hours without any disruption to daily operations or staff. The office was stripped of all fixtures and fittings, including flooring, electrics and furniture. We then installed new single glazed partitioning with frameless glass doors for the meetings rooms and individual offices to create a contemporary, fresh, open office working space. The graphics incorporated the Guardian Pensions logo and provided privacy for staff and meetings.
To maintain the vision set out in the brief, all new office furniture was installed, which included tall wall storage, gloss white workstations and a stunning glass boardroom table with leather chairs. The new furniture has enabled the company to keep their office tidy, with essential paperwork stored in locked cabinets.
The high gloss black kitchen in the break-out space was added to with visual graphics in the seating area, along with a contemporary Polyflor flooring. The full renovation of existing toilets with fully tiled walls and contemporary fittings completed the scheme.
The final touch was to incorporate the company’s branding into the design with graphics on the glass partitions and on the new bespoke reception walnut wall.
